Jonathan Brady, Florian Brey, and I had the opportunity to take part in this year’s World Orphan Drug Congress. This extraordinary gathering is all about bringing together people with varied expertise and resources for the purpose of collaborating to address the needs of patients with rare diseases. Speaking with many of the attendees, you can feel their deep commitment and passion. And you understand that the urgency is quite personal.

Florian participated in many sessions and in the video, he discusses some of the outstanding topics, including: how collaborating with the community is helping accelerate the path to drug development; how working closely with the FDA to thoroughly understand any potential issues is proving to be invaluable in developing the rigorous study designs; and how success in the orphan drug space is being redefined through the lens of sustainability.

Florian covers all the important and timely topics that were raised and debated at World Orphan Drug Congress 2014 in his report. You won’t want to miss it.
